Brisbane Flight Path Community Alliance – people before planes

60 Reasons to Protest: Reason #10 – Emirates II departs Brisbane 2.50 AM

Community members have been referring to the Emirates A380 as the “monster” as it almost always departs over the city, low and loud. Well, now there are two monsters. Thanks to the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s $200 million aviation war chest subsidy scheme, from today about half a million Brisbanites will be woken up by the new second daily Emirates EK431 flight to Dubai, which leaves Brisbane Airport 2.50 AM at night.

As you can see in the screenshots above, Emirates are not using the A380 for the EK430 / 431 service but the even louder and older Boeing 777.

In the photo you see Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO of Brisbane Airport Corporation; Dean Cleaver, Regional Sales Manager, Emirates, and; Deputy Premier of Queensland, Steven Miles MP, all grinning as they continue to abrogate their responsibilities to look after the people of Greater Brisbane, fly neighbourly, or obtain a social licence to operate.
